CTH batting highlights

Aaqib took full advantage of the life he got off the first ball and went on to score 45 off 40 balls and was finally bowled out by an express delivery from Muneer.

Sid was playing well at 19 off just 12 balls when he snicked one off Sonu's bowling and a good low catch was taken by Raaed behind the stumps. There was a chance at deep mid wicket earlier in the innings when Sagar did well to get to the ball but could not hang on to it.

Ravi was stuck at one end while CTH lost 5 wickets from the other side and Ravi remained not out at 9 off 8 balls and CTH was bowled out for 127 in the 17th over.

Brilliant bowling performance by Ali who took 3 wickets (and is on a hatrick on the frst ball of the next game) and Upendar who also took 3 wickets.

Zonah Batting

Zonah had one of the worst starts possible when they lost both openers (Osama & Raaed) and Hasan in the first over bowled by Ravi.

Akshay and Ali steadied the ship after the initial storm with a partnership of 42 runs. 

After Ali edged one to the keeper Sitesh off Aaqib's bowling, Akshay went on to score a 50 and built another partnership with Upendar this time. 

Akshay was caught at long off at 50 off Sagar's (IBM Sagar) bowling but Upendar continued and was supported by Sagar ( Zonah Sagar) to get Zonah the Win.

Upendar was the man of the match for his 3 wickets and 32 Runs.

Zonah Vs Lahari

Zonah played Lahari a few months ago at finecab where Hasan and Qutub were playing really well for Zonah but things came crashing down.

We have a much stronger side this time and looking towards a win against the strongest team of the tourney InshAllah.

Zonah Vs Genpact Match Summary

Zonah won the toss and elected to bat

Habeeb Ali opened the batting along with Hasan who was rearing to get some form back. Hasan started off with some good hits and looked like this was the day when he gets his form back but he succumbed to the swing in the pitch and was bowled by Sai..

The ball kept swinging and Qutub was the next to fall, caught lbw to a ball that swung the other way and with the score at 22/2 things we not looking good.

Akshay stuck at the wicket for a long time but was never able to get going, scoring just 5 runs of 16 balls before he was out caught and bowled by Nagendra.

While all this was going on Habeeb Ali stuck in on the other side and kept scoring runs. He was not getting the bulk of the strike but maintained a strike rate of 138 during his innings. He was finally dismissed in the 19th over after scoring a solid 58 off 42 balls with four boundaries and three sixes.

Kaleem and Yaqub added 13 off 12 and 17 off 22 respectively and built good partnerships with Ali who was still going strong on the other side.

Atif played a cameo in the end adding 23 off just 16 balls with 3 fours and a six which took Zonah to a total of 166 in their 20 Overs.

Genpact also did help them with 36 Extras.

Ali was given the Man of the Match award for his 58 and 2 wickets.

Atif also took 3 wickets and got a brilliant run out with a direct hit from covers.
Muneer took 2 wickets with his aggressive bowling.
Yaqub and Kaleem took one wicket each getting Genpact all out and Zonah winning with a massive 80+ run margin.

Zonah Vs Genpact Pre-match

Zonah will be playing their next match on Sunday 01/13/2012 against Genpact at the Finecab ground in Kompally. This is a must win game for Zonah and we also need to win with a good margin just in case it goes down to the NRR to decide who proceeds to the Semis.

Zonah Vs Choudhary's team

After losing their first match against this team Zonah was highly motivated to get them back and they did, chasing a total of 155 Zonah started very aggressively with Habeeb Ali leading the charge. Ali was 98 not out off only 49 balls with 12 fours and 2 sixes and Zonah ended up chasing the total in just 13.2 overs.

earlier in the day we also witnessed a brilliant bowling performance by Muneer when he took 4 wickets conceding only 23 runs in his quota of  4 overs. The catch he took to dismiss Siddharth off his own bowling was a pleasure to watch.

Habeeb Ali Stars in Zonah's nail biting victory over MSF CC

MSF CC Managed to put up a decent score of 146 after being put in to bat by Zonah. Their opener Vamshi was the highest scorer with 35 runs of 33 balls and had a good partnership with Rameez who after surviving a close call when the umpire turned down a caught behind of Zonah spinner Bilal’s first delivery, went on to score 18 of 21 balls. It took a great catch in the outfield by Hasan to dismiss Vamshi off Akshay’s bowling.
Shravan played some good straight drives including a straight 6 before he was dismissed by Atif you took a brilliant diving catch off his own bowling. Fammu remained not out at 28 off 24 balls at the end of the innings. Atif was the pick of the bowlers with his 4 overs 15 for 2.

In their chase Zonah were off to a very slow start with only 7 runs coming off the first 2 overs, things got worse for Zonah when Fammu got the wicket of Hasan 12(10) in the 4th over and Vamshi got Choudhary 2(4) in the 5th. Atif and Qutub 19(17) put together a 30 run partnership before Zonah lost 2 more wickets. Atif was finally dismissed for 27 of 39 balls and 3 balls later Akshay 12(15) was caught LBW by Rameez.

Zonah needed about 65 runs in 5 overs with 2 new batsmen at the crease. Raaed was middling the ball right from the start and hit the first ball he face for a boundary before finishing with a crucial 16 of 11 balls with 3 boundaries. Habeeb Ali was hitting the ball all over the park and brought Zonah back in the game.
Zonah needed 11 runs to win of the last over and the was going to be bowled by MSF CC’s opening bowler Vamshi. Ali got a couple of two and finished the inning with back to back boundaries winning the game for Zonah with 1 ball to spare!
